At first glance I suspected this set of pictures must have come from a movie so I tried to search for such a movie. And so I found it:

2010 Chinese movie "Aftershock"

When the Sichuan earthquake struck in 2008, a friend of mine cried just talking about it and he is not even from Sichuan but from Dalian very far from the earthquake area where he didn't have any close relative.

Tony,

Thanks sa info. Nakita ko lang sa facebook at namaganda ko ang tema ng eksena. Palagay ko ay mas masahol pa diyan yung nangyari ngayon sa Japan.

Malayo ka baga sa lugar na sinalanta?

Regards at ingat,

Vice

Hi VM,

It simply cannot be described. We still feel small aftershocks that it's difficult to sleep soundly:

http://www.jma.go.jp/en/quake/00000000091.html

Just click the "Previous Information" button. But the most urgent matter now is the unfolding event about 2 nuclear power plants that lost the cooling system.

Tokyo did not suffer the tsunami as it's protected from the Pacific side by a peninsula. The quake was felt at 7.9M in Tokyo plus three big aftershocks all M7+ about 10-15 minutes apart. After the 2nd aftershock, we evacuated the office building and stayed in the open space before it was announced that we could go home.

We are safe now but we are sad about the whole situation as this is very real for us. Friends have relatives in the Tohoku region worst hit by the tsunamis and we still don't know their condition as all communications were still cut. Japan is probably one of the most disaster-ready nations but these disasters are difficult to predict. The good thing is that tsunamis can be anticipated and observed after an earthquake has struck and Japan has an advanced tsunami warning system so people are immediately notified and know what to do when a tsunami warning is raised. We have been "waiting" for the big one so it has become a habit for us to guess the strength of the earthquakes if it's The Big One. Yesterday's quake definitely qualifies as the next big one. Nobody just could not predict where it would hit.
